Sorry for the wait! Next Up Teachers Canvas

Heyyyy youuu guyssss!!!! Sorry for not posting in a while! Here's the scoop. Marty (The husband if you didn't know) got really sick. He got Mono. And he got it so bad that the Dr. actually said that it's as close as you can get to cancer cause it's effecting his whole body. His insides are still swollen, they were worse, but he's progressively getting better. Thank Ya Jesus! So I've been taking him to the hospital and back and taking care of him. Men, such babies when they are sick. It's ok though, I got TONS of cuddles! Hehe! Ok back to the project!

I wanted to make something for my mom for Christmas. Something that would stand out, something she could use for school and something that everyone would see. And then I found the Picture I wanted to use!!!

Items:
Paint
Paint Tape
Crayons
Stenciled Letters
Hot Glue Gun
Toilet Paper Rolls
Pens, Gel Pens and Highlighters

First. I taped off my lines.

Second. Painted it.
As it dried I smashed the three toilet paper rolls,
hot glued the bottom and painted the outside and inside.
Also Painted the letters of my Mom's last name.

Finally I placed everything out where I liked it.
I glued everything on.
Letters.
Then picture with the crayons around it.
Then glued the rolls on and then added
the highlighters and things that I bought for her class.

Hope you enjoyed!

My First Project

Around December of 2011 I found Pinterest and found some Gifts that I could make for my friends and family, that were fairly cheap. Not to get out of giving gifts, but to give something I made for them to have. But first I wanted to try my skills on something for my home. We have lived in Groton for almost 6 months now and we only have one frame up in our house. I wanted to decorate more, but I wanted things I've made up. So I went to Michael's with my friend Brittany and we started crafting.

Materials: (anything can vary in whatever you are making, these items are just what I picked)

"Craftsmart" Acrylic Paint
Paintbrushes
Canvas
Painters Tape
Stencil Letters
Wooden Block Letter P

Ok, Here we go!

First thing I always do, I plan out where I want things to go, even if its a sketch on some paper. It's almost an OCD, I just like things where they need to be! =P

Next I got out my painters tape, taped off the pattern I wanted, and painted away!

After that I took off the tape and this is what it looked like.

As I waited for it to dry I painted my stencil letters and my wooden block letter P.

Then I placed everything where I wanted it, and hot glued it.

***You can use Mod Podge or whatever you please, I didn't have any at the time so Hot glue did just fine.

Let me introduce myself.

Hello World!

I'm Maggee, and I'm a Navy Wife. Sounds like an AA meeting intro doesn't it? Yeah? Oh well. Hehe! Since I am a Navy Wife, we move around a lot and I don't really have a job, so I have found a way to keep myself occupied besides keeping this house clean! I have found this website called Pinterest, you need to go and check it out immediately. It has a bunch of cool things in it. From DIY to Travel and a bunch of other cool stuff. You can sign and wait to be approved or just get an invite from someone. I'll be that someone if you need me to! Anyway, I love the DIY projects so I have kept myself busy by doing some of them. I've also learned some new recipes from there too!

This blog is mainly for me to show off what I've done and how to make it for anyone that would like to try. I'll do my best to give all the information on the project that I can.

I'm not sure if this will be a daily thing, most likely a weekly or bi-monthly until either more people show interest or I get more and more crafty. We will see!
